Things I
have built.

A short index of work that has a name, a machine, or a folder behind it. The field notes carry the long version; this page keeps the useful tools close by.

Small tools that save me twice.

read-only helpers
From the notebook

The small scripts that turn repeated chores into commands. These helpers are deliberately boring: they inspect a machine, check a path, or show what is listening. They do not install packages, rewrite configuration, or quietly “fix” anything.

System inventory

Hostname, kernel, OS, uptime, storage, and a small memory snapshot before troubleshooting starts.

./system-inventory.sh
Download helper ↓

Network check

DNS, HTTP headers, and one reachability check without turning a name-resolution problem into a guessing game.

./network-check.sh sudo-dev.com
Download helper ↓

What is listening?

A compact view of TCP listeners. Useful when a service says it is running but the port tells a different story.

./listeners.sh
Download helper ↓

Recent errors

Read-only recent error messages from macOS unified logging or Linux journalctl, with output capped so it stays useful.

./recent-errors.sh
Download helper ↓
What these do not do

No credentials, private hostnames, IP addresses, package installs, service restarts, or automatic fixes. Read the output before sharing it; machine names and addresses can still appear in otherwise harmless diagnostics.
